This is a little throwback Thursday to a trip I took this summer as part of an internship for my church. My fellow interns and I had the wonderful privilege of being a part of Generation Hope, a domestic mission trip to serve the area and people of New York City. We also got to help prepare for one of our church's Nights of Hope, where thousands gather to hear the Gospel and many accept Jesus into their hearts for the very first time.

It was such an amazing experience to be part of!

We spent four wonderful days in NYC, and also got to do quite a bit of sightseeing on our downtime. Here's some pictures from my favorite spots. New York is definitely one of my favorite places I've visited here in the US!

One of the first places we visited was Top of the Rock, where we got an impressive view of the concrete jungle that is Manhattan.

This is how we mentally prepared ourselves to climb up to the top.

Our hotel was amazing because it was right in the heart of Times Square! We explored the area almost every night. The sight of all the lights and billboards is truly something you have to experience for yourself.

Times Square at night.

The new World Trade Center, seen from the Wall Street district.

My favorite restaurant we visited! It was in the heart of Little Italy.

Dean & Deluca (coffee & groceries) in Soho.

When in New York, eat as the New Yorkers do. All the food trucks are seriously delicious!

Yankee Stadium, the venue of our NIght of Hope.

Well, that's our trip to the vibrant city of New York! It was so amazing to get to experience so many of the iconic places I'd seen in films or TV shows. Nothing can prepare you for witnessing them for yourself. To be honest, I hadn't expected to like New York as much as I did. I expected it to be so crowded and noisy that there was no room to rest or find a little bit of peace.

But one thing I love about New York is how diverse it is. It's got everything from the busy Times Square district to the peaceful trails of Central Park. Though it would definitely take some getting used to, I don't think I'd mind living here for awhile.

One thing's for sure- it'd be almost impossible to get bored in the city that never sleeps.

See you again someday, New York ;)
