Adventuring Week 1: For Love of Books

If you read my last post on some of my favorite life-changing books, you'll remember me talking about Love Does, a book about living a life of whimsy and adventure. It's something that I've been trying to do lately, and I decided a new year is the perfect excuse to really put it into practice.

So I'm going to be doing a series of "adventure blogs," which really means I'm going to try to find something different and spontaneous to do every other week. That doesn't mean I'll be skydiving or climbing a mountain every fourteen days, but I think there's always the opportunity to try new things or do something I'd really been wanting to do for awhile.

This week I'm starting off with something a little more simple, but one of my favorite ways to live adventures and that is: Reading! Well, shopping for books to read anyway. I spent two great days at some of my favorite bookstores around the city and picked up some great new reads, as well as some old classics that I couldn't resist.

Here's an example of one of those I-couldn't-resist classics. The Bronte sisters are my favorite, and perhaps the best part was that this was only $7 from Half-Price Books (seriously).

This is a creative journal I'd been wanting to check out for years so my sister bought me one and it already looks like a lot of fun.

And my personal favorite is a devotional book I happened across at Barnes & Noble. I know the cover makes it seem intense, but each devotion is so encouraging and based off Scripture. It encourages me each time I read them.

So those are my adventures for the first week! See you guys soon, and remember to try something new this week :)
