This Sunday was the first official day of summer (and it definitely feels like it in Texas...), and that also means June is almost over! Not sure how exactly it's gone by so fast. To be honest, this month has been very strange for me for a number of reasons that I may get into later. But I have had some good times (especially because my church just had our annual young adult conference and it was a blast! More on that later ;).

Here are my favorites for this month:

Reading...

Enemies of the Heart by Andy Stanley. Without even making it a resolution, reading new books has been something I've been doing a lot this year. I'm always on the lookout for what other people are reading and what they recommend. That's how I came across this title. I really enjoyed Andy Stanley's Deep & Wide so I figured this would also be a great read. And let me tell you guys, if you haven't read this, you need to. It's one of those books you didn't know how badly you needed until you read it. So worth the read!

Watching...

Gilmore Girls! I know it came out on Netflix a few months ago and suddenly everyone was re-watching it, but it actually took me awhile to catch up. I always thought the show had its charm though I never really got into it when it was on the air. But lately I've been making use of our DVR to record old reruns and it didn't take long for me to get hooked. Funny story: I actually got hooked when I watched the series finale (which I started watching before I even knew it was the finale!). But it was so sad and really made me want to go back and watch through the whole thing, and I'm loving it so far.

Following...

Deeply Rooted Magazine on instagram. Online magazines have become a bit of a trend lately, but I especially love this one because it's aimed towards Christian women, and they post pretty frequently. I haven't actually checked out the magazine itself yet (though I probably will soon!) but their Instagram posts always inspire me. I try to always find accounts like that on instagram and other social media sites. It's important to follow people that really inspire and motivate you since let's be honest, we spend quite a bit of time scrolling down our feeds. Might as well make sure we're reading good content.

Listening to...

Empires by Hillsong United. Will Hillsong United ever create an album I don't want to listen to for weeks on end? Probably not. I think my favorites from their most recent album are When I lost my Heart to You and Even When It Hurts. But really, all the songs are amazing. This particular album has such beautiful writing and honesty in a lot of the lyrics. I'll let you know when I get tired of playing it over and over again in my car, but it probably won't be anytime soon.

Loving...

The fact that I get to be a part of my amazing church! Like I said earlier, we just had our youth and young adult conference and it was a couple of busy (and hectic, but that's to be expected!) days. This was our fifth annual conference and we're so blessed to always get to have amazing speakers and worship leaders, and that it's all free (yes, for everyone). I'll be posting a recap of my favorite moments and what really spoke to me during the conference soon!

Dreaming About...

Fundraising ideas for the long mission trip I'm planning (otherwise known as the World Race). I want to make really neat journals that I can sell online but since I have a specific vision in my head of how I want them to look, it's taking a little bit longer than I expected. I'm so excited to get them ready though and start selling them soon. Stay tuned for when I do :)
