Adventuring Week 13: Ikea Exploring

A few days ago I went exploring in one of the most wonderful places on earth. That's right, Ikea! Honestly, my bank account has been running a little low these past few days, so I wanted to do something fun in my city that wouldn't require a lot of spending. And that's where Ikea came in!

I have been wanting to check out new bookshelves and desks for awhile, and this was the perfect chance to get to do that. Plus, the food is super cheap that you can spend a day planning for your room without hardly spending anything. This was kind of like a preview shopping day for me, and also a chance to get some delicious Swedish treats.

This living room display was one of the first things I came across, and I loved it! My favorite part of course was the bookshelves, which kind of took over the room. I don't think anything makes a room as magical as books everywhere do.

We also got to see a lot of neat room displays that make me want to redo my whole room. It's all in moderation of course, but I did see some neat stuff I might come back for.

After a bit of exploring, my sister and I took a break at the Ikea cafe which was great as always. I always feel a little weird eating here though, because I feel like I'm eating in a showroom. The furniture is nice and modern and well arranged, so I feel like its on display too! But the food is a perfect distraction ;) I tried some vegetable meatballs this time, and they were pretty good, though definitely not as good as the original Swedish meatballs. This little pink cake was great though- I wish I knew what it was called, but I can't remember... All I know is it's Swedish of course.

Finally we found our way downstairs where they also have a lot of neat, distracting things.

We couldn't go home empty handed, so we picked up a succulent and tiny cactus to bring back home! Aren't they adorable?

I didn't really get any good pictures of all the bookshelves I saw, but I did find a few that I liked, so I will definitely be going back to get them soon.

This was a really fun, cheap activity to do in my city, and definitely showed me that you don't always have to spend a lot to have an adventure. Just because your budget is tight at the moment doesn't mean you can't dream and plan for the future.

What are some of your favorite, cheap things to do around your city?
