Adventuring Week 14: The Little Mermaid Musical

It's been awhile since I made one of these posts (so bad, I know), but we went to go watch a musical a few days ago and I had to include it in this series. My city has one of the best theater districts in the nation and yet I hadn't been to a show since high school! But that all changed this past week when I got to see The Little Mermaid performed by Theatre Under the Stars. My family and I went to the show to celebrate my sister's birthday, and we had such a great time.

I was amazed by how well the musical stuck to the original Disney story. Every classic song was included (and sung so beautifully) plus some new ones and a few funny twists. There was something so magical about the way the characters really looked like they were swimming in the sea- whether they were flying around the stage held up by invisible strings, or surrounded by beautiful props and colorful costumes. I wish I could show it to you all, but it's something you have to see for yourself.

We did get to take some pictures outside the show though. Here's my sister (the birthday girl) posing by the show's poster. Go wish her a late happy birthday on her Instagram!

And here's both my sisters and I in front of this adorable backdrop. I felt like a little kid again, but in the best possible way ;)

Even the souvenirs were adorable! (my sister got this one because it was her birthday of course). Isn't it neat?

I seriously had the best time at this show! I can't wait until this theater puts on another Disney show because I'm definitely going. My vote is for Pocahontas, but I'm sure they'd do any Disney story justice.
