Aesthetics Challenge

Today's post is inspired from tumblr (what else is new?). I've seen this post practically everywhere on the site and I thought it would be fun to try, only I wanted to put it on this blog instead. The rules for this challenge are simple: 1) create an aesthetic board that captures your personality and interests (if you don't know what an aesthetic board is, check the #aesthetics tag on tumblr and you'll see what I mean) and 2) use only pictures already on your phone. That means you can't download anything new once you start the challenge!

I feel like I had too much of an advantage for this one honestly, because I keep so many photos on my phone (I am a storage pack rat!). But I did put a lot of effort into finding ones that I thought really captured my personality, and they were all photos I had taken (or that someone had taken of me).

So without further ado, here is my version of the Personal Aesthetics Challenge.

It's hard to define your personality by just a few pictures of course, but I think this board did it pretty well. I'm a nature lover, so there's no such thing as too many pictures of mountains or trees. Nature just makes me feel cozy and warm and at home- much like the other pictures on this board do too. I included two of my favorite books- the Mysteries of Udolpho (a long but fascinating read) and The Host (Stephenie Meyer's incredibly underrated and much better than Twilight novel), because they also make me happy. :) And of course a Starbucks drink, which was most likely hot chocolate, since I am not a coffee drinker!

My second board captured a little more activity- some of the things I most love to do, like driving (especially on road trips) and checking out museum paintings (especially from the Romantic period ;). I also like that both boards captured my favorite colors for photographs, which shouldn't be a surprise since I did edit them!

Hopefully these gave you some inspiration for how you would make your own aesthetics board. Considered yourself challenged if you read this, and let me know if you decide to try it out!
