December Favorites

Is it just me, or does it feel like December has been around for awhile? It might have something to do with the fact that Christmas seems to come around earlier every year. Either way, I can't believe 2016 is almost here already! We've still got a month left of 2015 though, and I am enjoying every part of it. Here are some of my favorite things this month.
Watching...
One Tree Hill. If there is one show that defines my middle/high school years, it's this one. A few days ago, I spontaneously started re-watching season 3 when I came across the DVDs while cleaning my room. Of course that led to me ordering season 4 out of a whim because I was dying to keep watching... I do remember what happens of course, but it's been so long since I really got into Tree Hill that all the emotions and drama feel so fresh. And I love it! The only thing I am noticing this time around is that I cannot believe the producers really wanted us to buy that the actors were high school kids! Absolutely none of them could pass for that age! I guess I can overlook it because of how much I love the show though.

Listening to...
Christmas music! Because, obviously. To be honest, I'm not huge on most Christmas music. But there are certain songs that I really love and this year I've even found a few new ones I can't get enough of. I made a little playlist of my favorites over on youtube. Check it out if you'd like! I promise it's a good one :)
Reading...
Cinder by Marissa Meyer. I've noticed this book in the YA sections of bookstores for years but just now started reading it after downloading a free sample of the first five chapters (you can get that here). I was quickly hooked. I'm a sucker for fairy tale re-tellings and the whole cyborg/old world plague thing is a fascinating concept to add to the mix. It sounds really weird if you haven't heard of this book before, but it works somehow. Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the full copy soon.

Loving...
Kittens! The stray cat we'd been feeding had kittens about a month ago so we now basically have seven cats. The kitties are adorable of course (I mean, just look at them) but also a lot of hard work to take care of! They are just getting to that age where they want to run and leap around so we have to chase them all over the yard whenever we let them out. Which has to be often because momma cat loves to be outside... It's been a true adventure and I'll definitely post most pictures soon. I never thought we'd be taking care of kittens but I have officially learned to never say never.

Working On...
My novel. I still haven't had a chance to do a Nanowrimo recap but I'll get to it soon. But I will tell you that I decided not to complete the 50K because I ended up changing a lot of things in my story. So I didn't want to rush myself into writing before planning things out well. Even though it was a little disappointing not to "win" this year, I know it was the best decision for me because at the end of the day this is more than a Nanowrimo novel. It's a story I really want to tell and publish someday, and I want to make sure I write it well.
What have you guys been up to this month? And if you're also a One Tree Hill fan, let me know if you're a Leyton or Brucas fan because I'm in the middle of that craziness right now. (I've always been a die-hard Leyton fan myself ;)
