I hope you've been having a lovely May! Here's how my month is looking so far...
Reading...
The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George. Okay, the truth is I've only read the first chapter from the Amazon website preview. But this is going to be my fiction book for May, and I can't wait to get it in the mail. I usually read a YA book for my fiction category of the month, but I came across this novel online and the first chapter was so sweet and compelling that I decided to go with something a little different this month. As a writer, I also appreciated how quickly the author was able to unite readers emotionally with the main character, so I'm excited to learn from her techniques (yes, that's my usual excuse for reading too much ;)
Visiting...
The Sugar & Cloth Color Wall in Houston! This color wall (put up by the founders of the popular website SugarandCloth.com) has been all over social media the past few weeks, and I finally got to check it out a few days ago when taking my friend's graduation pictures. I can definitely see what all the fuss is about. Despite the (random) location, the wall is bright and so fun to take pictures on! This is one of the more muted colors, but it's still pretty neat:

Nicole Reyes is a Christian speaker and writer who recently spoke at our young adult service for the second time. Both times, her sermons were incredibly inspiring. Naturally, I also love her blogs. These days, it's for some reason rare to see a young, single woman preacher on stage. But hearing someone who can talk on the issues young Christian women face in a relatable way is so refreshing. Her blog is seriously one of my favorites right now, so go check it out if you want to be inspired.
Loving…
Collecting office supplies. Now that I work in an office part time, I’ve started to become a little well, obsessed, with collecting cute desk decorations. I’ve been to Michael’s at least twice now just for that purpose and the other day I found myself browsing through cute office objects on Pinterest. Maybe not the best idea because there are a lot of them and I don’t have an unlimited bank account! But I had to give in a on a couple that were too cute to resist. Like an adorable otter tape dispenser. I mean, look at it:

It’s so ridiculously cute! And unnecessary, sure, but did I mention it’s adorable?
Working on…
Working out. But really, by that I just mean going running because apparently it’s not as terrible as I used to think it was. I’ve found a favorite running spot on a small lap in our city park, and I especially love running it just before the sun sets. The reason? Sometimes little rabbits and cranes come out at that time! I know, it's silly. But it makes me feel like I’m not actually in the middle of a concrete jungle. Besides, I can never have too many motivations to get in shape.
What is your May looking like?
