Well, the long awaited (mostly by me) day is finally here. Today I’m finally going to be sharing about my trip to New York! Yay!!

First, a little background on the trip. My friend and I visited NYC for about five days two weeks ago (how has it already been that long?!). Our trip consisted of sightseeing, a lottt of waiting for the subway/train, and of course, quite a bit of delicious food. Here’s how the first couple days of the trip went down.

We started our first morning in New York with traditional NY pizza, mostly because we hadn’t had breakfast and were starving. Joe’s Pizza is pretty famous for their delicious slices, and we enjoyed every bite.

We ate our slices in this little patio which are apparently everywhere in New York. Makes me wish we had little nature spots like these.

Next, we ended up in Washington Square Park, which is seriously stunning.

We also passed through NYU, where we got mistaken for college students, which was hilarious.

Taking a quick snap in SOHO’s Forever 21...

Totally not posing here…

We made a habit of stopping in the middle of streets to take photos (and risked our lives a few times haha) but it was worth it)…

The cutest little ice cream stop in Chinatown :)

We then took the subway to the World Trade Center and ended up in the Oculus, which opened earlier this year. There's something so calming about that natural light.

I’d been to the 9/11 memorial before, but it was just as moving this time around.

Since Wall Street was nearby, we walked quite a few blocks to visit the old New York Stock Exchange.

I found this weird sculpture on our way there and I’m not sure why I kind of fell in love with it.

Our dinner for that night was Shake Shack, because we deserved junk food after all that walking. Also their shakes are the best I’ve ever had, just thought everyone should know.

And that was pretty much it for that day! The next morning, we took the train to Grand Central, which allowed me to reenact this iconic Gossip Girl moment, of course.

Lunch that morning was at The Kati Roll Company, a delicious place that my friend had been to before. It was so good, and the place was adorable.

I was planning on stopping by the New York Public Library, but I wasn't completely prepared for how much I loved it. We got to spend some time working in one of the rooms, which almost made me feel like a New Yorker. The whole building is so old-fashioned and beautiful.

Our day ended with an obligatory stop in Times Square. Just as I remembered, Times Square was chaotic, loud and blinding. But still worth checking out at least once, in my opinion.

Well, that's it for the first part of my New York recap! Stay tuned for Part 2 next week, and let me know if you've checked out any of these spots in the city.

Also, shoutout to my friend and travel buddy Annette, who took a bunch of these photos as well. You can check out her awesome Instagram here.
